NUDE PHOTOGRAVURE - MORTENSEN

Photogravure: A means of printing a photographic image by the intaglio process. The photographic negative (which may be of an artist's drawing) is projected onto a sensitized gelatin emulsion or carbon tissue that is transferred to a copper plate. After washing the plate areas that correspond to the image on the negative are dissolved and the plate can be bitten by acid as in routine etching. In hand photogravure, which is most commonly used in printmaking, the copper plate is first prepared for aquatint etching. The end result can closely resemble a traditional linear etching or soft ground etching.

Nude Photograph by Annie Leibowitz? Huh?

I guess if a photograph like this can be 'misinterpreted' as being sensational in the United States, we've got some problems!

You'd see this better with the right prescription glasses.

An amazing deal on prescription eyeglasses

The net is filled with great 'deals' , and of course if they were all great deals, none of them would be. However, I truly found a great deal for anyone who wears glasses. Prescription glasses at Costco costs about $230. Prescription glasses at those 'discount' " stores that say "Get 2 pairs for $69.00" is a total deception; it doesn't cover tinting, UV protection, warranty. All you get is a cheap frame and two pieces of glass, and they have to be single vision. When you add up the necessary 'options' the price is about $190.00. I paid that for a pair of prescription reading glasses.

Why would anyone need 'prescription' reading glasses? You can buy a pair for $1.00 at the dollar store. If you need the same magnification in both eyes, like +1.25 or +2.00, that's fine, but what if you have +1.25 correction in your right eye, and +2.00 in your left eye? You could close one eye.

I ordered my prescription glasses from the glassesshop, and got them for about $48.00, which included shipping charges (I also had a 20% discount coupon, so the final price was about $40). They fit better and are of a superior quality to any glasses I've bought at lenscrafters, costco, or the 'discount' place. They're made with titanium, lenses have UV protection, tinting, warranty, and all the other stuff that come with 'good' eyeglasses. Mine need to be good since I'm a photographer. How you order:

A) Type in your prescription data (it's not rocket science--it's not even rocket art). B)Try on any frame with the virtual face shape tool on the website. C) All you need is a ruler with centimeters (to measure distance between your pupils). It's the calibration scale on the other side of inch scale.

You can even IM them on their site through their customer service. You can even talk to a person at their 800 number. You get a hard eyeglass case, a soft eyeglass case, and cleaning cloth. These guys are in China. Nanking, actually. And if you are concerned about the trade disparity between U.S. and China, your purchase is not going to make any difference. And for skeptics, I'm exhibiting my order and eyeglass prescription. If you have a prescription, click on the image below and get started.
